In a nutshell:
Sprains and strains. Stiffness, coupled with terrible restlessness. Pains usually around joints, which ache, feel sore, bruised. The pain is worse on first movement, with a tearing or stitching sensation, but this eases after continued movement, provided it is not too strenuous. During colds, fevers, flus, a triangular red tip at the end of their tongue is an excellent confirmatory symptom. Children who crave cold milk.
Better: heat; gentle motion.
Worse: damp, cold weather.

Rhus tox is a good remedy for musculo-skeletal problems, such as sciatica, restless legs, cramps, pains, sprains and osteoarthritis.
It may also ease painful stiffness, such as can arise from lack of movement, eg; when getting out of bed after sleeping, or out of a chair after sitting down for a length of time.
Rhus tox is also prescribed for skin conditions with burning, itchy, red, swollen skin, eg; herpes, nappy rash, blisters, shingles and eczema. It may be useful in relieving itch of chicken pox.
Women’s problems helped by Rhus tox include heavy, prolonged menstruation, external itching or burning in the vagina and abdominal pain.
This remedy is suited to treating mumps accompanied by fever, a white or yellow coating on the tongue with a red tip, and firm distended glands.
Symptoms improve when the person is near heat, and are made worse by cold and damp conditions.
