Commonly referred to as Eyebright, Euphrasia is used for treating all kinds of conditions affecting the eyes, it provides relief for sore, tired, swollen eyes, as well as mild eye injuries.
Conjunctivitis, blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelid), dimmed vision and dry eyes of menopause all respond well to Euphrasia.
Euphrasia is a good remedy for colds and influenza. It is very effective in treating seasonal disorders such as allergy induced hay fever, where the eyes are mainly affected.
The hay fever causes symptoms of swelling and irritation of the eyes and often a watery nasal discharge as well. Euphrasia is also prescribed for constipation, bursting and/or splitting headaches, and to relieve the symptoms of the early stages of measles.
